Music
Our music is traditional in nature and conservative in style. During our church services we sing from a hymnbook and are accompanied by a piano.
In the future, we plan on adding an organ to the accompaniment of our hymn service. Our own church members will also form an orchestra and use the talents God has blessed them with for church services and special programs. We enjoy singing the old hymns of the faith like: "How Firm a Foundation," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Holy, Holy, Holy." We believe the scriptures are clear and that even our music is not to be "conformed to this world."
Children / Teens
- Philosophy
Our church's goal is not to take the place of the parents. The role of the parent is God-given and ought not be substituted with other people or programs. Harvest Baptist Church desires to simply reinforce Biblical principles and commands that each parent is already teaching their children at home. In doing this, we are looking to strengthen the home and lift up the Word of God to each child.
- Sunday school
Every Sunday morning at 9:30 AM, we have a Sunday
School program for children in preschool through 6th grade. Our Sunday school hour is geared to encourage children to memorize and study scripture throughout the week, bring their Bible to church, and learn songs that teach them about the character of God.
- Teen Bible Study
Teen Bible Studies for those in 7th grade through high school, meet each Sunday morning at 9:30 AM. They study the Bible and learn life application leasons for Christian living.
- Adult Bible Study
Adult Bible Studies meet each Sunday morning at 9:30 AM. This time coincides with the Sunday school hour giving the family an opportunity to attend church together.
Outreach / Community
The Bible tells us that we are to spread the Word of God by taking our light into a dark world. It is important that individuals in the community be presented with God's loving message in their own homes. Our pastor and members of our church go on visitation in the surrounding neighborhoods. If you would like the Pastor or a member of Harvest Baptist Church to visit you in your home, please send us an e-mail to let us know when and where we can visit with you.
Church Duties
Our members collaborate by serving in various support roles that help to carry out the weekly routines of a church. Areas such as: church cleaning, nursery, children's ministries, youth activities, music, cooking/preparing for special activities, ushers, treasurer, and secretarial needs are all part of the ministry opportunities at Harvest Baptist Church.
Missions
- Faith Promise Missions
You may ask, "What is faith promise missions?" Someone once summarized this missions program in this way: "The Faith Promise is promising God money (that He must supply) that we do not have; in order to reach people we do not know; in obedience to the command of our Lord whom we have not seen." It is a simple concept that God has greatly used through the years." When speaking of missions, Harvest Baptist Church expects great things from God and will continue to attempt great things for God.
- Missionaries
Our church supports its missionaries through "faith promise missions". At present we support the Moore family who are serving in South Africa and the George family who are serving in India, both under Baptist World Mission.
- The Moore Family
